June 27^th is National Sunglasses Day and Optical Allusions is excited to celebrate with a new sunglasses special for the month of June! National Sunglasses Day is an annual holiday to promote awareness of the harmful effects of UV rays. Just as our skin can be damaged by sun exposure, so can our eyes. The Vision Council stresses that even if it is an overcast day or you are already wearing contact lenses, your eyes can still be exposed to UV damage. As UV damage is cumulative, there is no better time than the present to start protecting your eyes. For 2019, The Vision Council is asking everyone to post selfies wearing their sunglasses with that hashtag #SunglassSelfie on June 27^th to help spread this important message.
